Canvvs is a luxury custom sneaker marketplace connecting independent shoe designers with buyers who want something genuinely unique. When they came to Viaduct, they had a vision, a community of talented designers, and no platform to sell on a previous agency had spent 18 months building nothing. We delivered a fully functioning marketplace in 8 weeks, and they haven’t looked back since.
The Challenge
When Canvvs came to us, they had a vision, a growing community of independent sneaker designers, and an 18-month void where a platform should have been. Their previous agency had taken the brief, taken the time, and delivered nothing. No code. No timeline. No platform.
And the clock was already running. A collaboration with Steph Curry and Rakuten was in motion 100 limited-edition custom sneakers ready to drop. They needed a fully functioning marketplace, and they needed it in 8 weeks. We said yes.
Our Approach
We designed and built a fully functioning custom sneaker marketplace in 8 weeks. Custom-built from the ground up designer storefronts, product listings, secure payments, and a checkout flow built for conversion. No shortcuts, no templates that didn’t fit.
Canvvs needed to feel premium without feeling inaccessible. We designed every screen with sneaker culture in mind editorial layouts, clean hierarchy, and a visual language that celebrated the designers as much as the product.
Launching a marketplace means building two communities at once designers and buyers. Our social and email strategy grew Canvvs to 50K followers and set the stage for a sold-out launch, with the Steph Curry x Rakuten drop acting as the centrepiece.
The Results
We launched a fully functioning marketplace 60 days after engagement. All 100 Steph Curry x Rakuten sneakers sold out. 140 designers onboarded. 50,000 social followers built. And a 25% conversion rate, at a time when most e-commerce sites see 2 to 3 percent.
